The European Union's measures against Kosovo will be lifted when all European Union member states agree and after discussions that are currently underway.

This was stated by the head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Aivo Orav, during his visit to Prizren on the occasion of the inauguration of a public school supported by EU funds, writes A2.

Saying that the European Union is not complete without the Western Balkan countries joining, he was asked what Kosovo must do to join.

"I think it has been said many times from many levels of the EU that the EU is not complete until all the Balkan states join. My sincere hope is that this will happen as soon as possible. But this means that Kosovo needs a lot of 'homework'... What is needed to lift Kosovo's measures is the consensus of the 27 EU states and then there are full discussions that are still ongoing," Orav declared.

He also met with the mayor of Prizren, Shaqir Totaj. The EU Ambassador, Aivo Orav, stated that political issues were also discussed at this meeting, including the recent elections in Kosovo: "We talked about political issues, about elections, we know that the votes are being counted. We have heard different percentages such as 40 percent, 20 percent, but my opinion is that the most important is 92 percent. 92 percent of Kosovo citizens support EU membership. This is a very big responsibility for us, but a very big responsibility for the new government to fulfill for the citizens of Kosovo."

Orav also held separate meetings with the leaders of political parties in Kosovo on Tuesday. He mentioned that the citizens of Kosovo want EU membership, which the Government must work to achieve. (A2 Televizion)
