At the meeting of the Central Election Commission of Kosovo that took place this Monday, it was decided to pave the way for the recount of 50 ballot boxes.
CEC member from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Arianit Elshani, said that the Electoral Operations Council has recommended a recount of these ballot boxes.
"15 polling stations have been identified in which there is a discrepancy between one signature and two signatures, i.e. two signatures on the signature list and one ballot or two less or more in the ballot box. It has been recommended that a full recount be proceeded for all political entities," said Elshani.
Meanwhile, Besnik Buzhala from the CEC Secretariat stated that they are ready to begin the recount of these ballot boxes this afternoon at 4:00 PM if the CEC makes a decision.
After this, the CEC chairman put the request to a vote, where with 9 votes in favor, the recommendation for the recount of 50 ballot boxes was approved.
As for the evaluation of the ballot boxes outside Kosovo, which are 177 in total, Buzhala said that they are waiting for the deadline for appeals to the Supreme Court.
"Regarding the evaluation of ballot boxes outside Kosovo, 177 of which are, yesterday we received the ECAP decision, after the deadline for appeals to the Supreme Court expires, tomorrow we can begin opening the 177 boxes for the purpose of evaluating invalid ballots in accordance with the ECAP decision, or at the latest on Wednesday morning," he said.
