The Kurti government rewards children and pensioners for the end of the year

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has announced that they will allocate 100 for children up to 16 years old and for pensioners in Kosovo.

"All of you who are between the ages of 0 and 16 and who are recipients of monthly allowances for children will benefit from 100 euros each", declared the head of the government of Kosovo.

In a joint conference with his Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, Kurti said: "As we have already made it a tradition, immediate additional support of 100 euros is being allocated to all pensioners."

Meanwhile, Minister Murati did not indicate when exactly pensioners and children will be able to receive this payment, but said that during the next week, work will be done on this.

He added that pensioners and children do not need to apply for the year-end supplement, as they are already registered in the system.

The Government of Kosovo issued a scheme in 2021 to pay children under the age of 16 on a monthly basis initially with 10 euros and 20 euros per month per child.

Kurti introduced a new child benefit scheme in August this year with a small increase.

According to the new scheme, the first and second child in the family is paid 20€ per month each, while for mothers who have three or more children, each of the three children is paid 30€.

According to the Government, over 400,000 children benefit from the child allowance scheme. The annual cost of the new scheme is expected to be 120 million euros. (A2 Televizion)
