Albulena Haxhiu is the proposed name for the new speaker of parliament that the other major Albanian political parties do not want.
In the forefront of Vetëvendosje's political battles, which have been entrusted with many important positions both in the party and in the Government, Haxhiu is not seen as a suitable candidate to receive the votes of parties that were in opposition until yesterday.
"She is a symbol of the failure of this government in the past four years, her entire mandate has been accompanied by various scandals," said Memli Krasniqi, PDK.
"Coalitions have also had the votes for Speakers of the Assembly or there have been cases when the proposed candidate has been acceptable to all political groups represented in the Assembly, which is not the case now," said Hykmete Bajrami, LDK.
"A more consensual candidate than Haxhiu, we have given some opinions, if it were any other candidate it would be easier for us to vote for him," said Haradinaj.
Vetëvendosje does not want to change its name for the speaker of parliament, so it is open to another option.
"Let's call all political groups, constitute the Assembly and agree that with 80 votes we immediately dissolve the Assembly and immediately go to new elections," said Mimoza Kusari-Lila, Vetëvendosje Movement.
For the first time, Vetëvendosje also articulated the possibility of a political agreement. Kurti's party offers other parties that it will give them its 57 votes to elect the deputy speakers of the Assembly, which comes in turn immediately after the election of the speaker of parliament.
"The moment they vote for Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly, then in the package we also vote for 3 Deputy Speakers of the Assembly, it is taken for granted but it does not necessarily have to be that way," said Kusari-Lila.
PDK and LDK disagree with the findings that the election of the president is the same as that of the vice presidents.
"The parliamentary majority brings the agreement, we have no agreement here, nor will we make an agreement, in no way can we have an agreement with the LVV," said Krasniqi.
"The Speaker of the Assembly represents the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, while the deputy speakers are representatives of political groups, and this is why they are voted in packages," said Bajrami.
The session was postponed to Wednesday at 10:00, where the deputies will gather again in an attempt to constitute the Assembly. In this whole situation, Fatmir Limaj of Nisma seems calmer, as he is awaiting an invitation from Albin Kurti.
"I believe it was a correct stance, this is the reality. In the current situation, a way forward must be found," said Fatmir Limaj, NISMA. (A2 Televizion)
