Brussels meeting for the association, skepticism about concrete results between Bislim and Petkovic

On Thursday, the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia returns, about two months after the Serbian aggression in Banjska.

Chief negotiators Besnik Bilsimi and Petar Petkovic will face each other in Brussels to discuss the next steps in the normalization of relations and the draft European statute for the Association.

But in Pristina there is skepticism about a possible progress in this meeting. The Democratic League of Kosovo told Kosova Press that it is impossible for them to come up with a position for the association as they have not yet seen the draft European statute.

"We know that Serbia does not want to implement the agreements, but the international community wanted to convince Serbia. Also, with the implementation of the agreements, the measures should be removed as we have lost a lot from the financial side, especially in the IPA projects", said deputy Krasniqi.

Skepticism about the meeting of the chief negotiators is also expressed by experts on the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue issue.  

"The facilitators of these negotiations and those who support this process should be aware that the party that is not constructive in this dialogue will be hindered in the membership process or even in the economic development or the international position it has, in our case we are talking about Serbia", said analyst Dorajet Imeri

The meeting in Brussels comes after the visits made by the EU's special emissary for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, first to Kosovo and then to Serbia.  (A2 Televizion)
