The AKU has identified 6 entities in Vlora that have traded products with salmonella. A2 CNN journalist Edi Ruçi reported in Ditarin with Bruna Çifligu that the number of entities that traded chicken meat with salmonella may be higher, but according to him they have been removed from the market. He said that the controls were carried out in markets, restaurants and fast food near schools.
"After the news published in the media, the AKU has started inspections of every private entity in Vlora, and there is already a result. Being classified as a high-risk business, mainly for the trade of chicken with salmonella. The AKU has started inspections of supermarkets and markets where meat products are sold. The next step was to inspect restaurants as a connecting link to the markets that sell the products. Fast food outlets near schools were also inspected. These inspections resulted in 6 entities having owned products with salmonella, they were markets, supermarkets, but there was no shortage of restaurants either. Sources at the AKU Vlora say that the number could be much higher, but these entities have removed the products from the market."
According to the A2 CNN journalist, the amount seized was considerable, while administrative measures have been taken against the entities that traded them.
"They have taken various administrative measures against these businesses, as well as taking precautions, as in the event of a recurrence, commercial activity will be suspended. Vlora Hospital confirms that no people have sought medical help due to salmonella. There was a considerable amount, but they are reserved so as not to spread panic. Controls are continuing at this moment at the district level in all private entities."
The journalist emphasized that "there are suspicions that they were introduced into markets by suppliers in different cities and then purchased to be served in restaurants. There are suspicions that they may have been supplied directly and they may have been aware that they contained salmonella." (A2 Televizion)
