The CEC platforms have been subjected to organized cyber attacks. This was stated by the State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi, according to whom the cyber attacks were organized from abroad. He compared these to similar attacks in other countries such as France or Estonia.
"I can make it public today that the CEC platforms, starting from the registration of voters from abroad, have been under cyberattacks. We are in communication with relevant institutions, such as those of cybersecurity and today those related to the legal prosecution of these cases whenever they are identified. From the information we have, some of these attacks have not been amateur attacks, but have been organized and sophisticated and not random. They have all been from abroad, comparable to the attacks that other countries have had for similar situations, such as France, Estonia ," Celibashi announced, according to A2 CNN.
He assured that in no case have cyberattacks affected the system, emphasizing that they have managed to repel them, and have notified the relevant authorities.
"We have managed to have zero implication in our systems, we have managed to repel all these attacks. Be it in the case of PER, which has offered complete security in every respect, but also all CEC applications, including the website and the results transmission module ," said the chief commissioner.
