Bad weather, Vlora Captaincy suspends navigation of small vessels

The Vlora Seaport Captaincy has decided to suspend sea navigation for all small vessels and fishing vessels.

According to the captaincy, the reason for the suspension of sea navigation was the strong coastal wind with a south-southeast direction, with a speed within the Bay of Vlora of 15 meters per second and in the open sea of 20 meters per second, causing high waves within the bay up to 1.5 meters high, while in the open sea the waves reach up to 2.5 meters high, making the navigation of these vessels impossible.

According to information from the captaincy near the Vlora seaport, the suspension of sea navigation began at 10 am this Wednesday.

The suspension of sea navigation will continue until 6 a.m. on Thursday. The port authority announced that the line's ferries will continue sailing as normal because they can withstand greater sea force.

Meanwhile, all marine vehicle drivers have been urged to anchor their vessels on the coast to avoid damage from their collisions. For this reason, their administrators have begun securing vessels on the coast to avoid damage. (A2 Televizion)
