Monday brought back heavy snowfall in the Kukës region. After the high mountain areas above 800 meters, since midnight snowfall has also started in the lower areas and in the city.
It is learned that national roads are passable without problems. The National Road is also passable along its entire length, while snow removal vehicles are on the ground clearing snow and spreading salt.
Although caution should be exercised when driving along the Thirr-Fan-Reps segment, due to the presence of snow in the early hours of the morning, two chain accidents were recorded, while at the exit of the village of Fan another vehicle went off the road, writes A2 CNN.
Fortunately, the accidents only involve material damage. Snowfall is present on all national and rural roads, drivers should be careful to reduce speed and be equipped with winter vehicles.
According to the Kukës Prefecture, the weather situation in the Tropoja municipality is cloudy, while the municipalities of Kukës and Has are affected by moderate snowfall. All national road axes are normally trafficable.
The contractors have been working on cleaning and salting the national roads and keeping them functional. There are no reports of any emergency problems among residents from the municipalities of Kukës, Tropojë and Has. The entire Kukës Region is supplied with electricity. Drinking water is supplied according to the schedules set by the Kukës Water Supply Directorate.
