The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, congratulated citizens today on Summer Day, a traditional celebration with ancient origins in Elbasan, but also other cities, which marks the arrival of the spring season.
President Begaj's congratulation on his official Facebook profile is accompanied by a photo of the Elbasan basket with the symbolic elements of Summer Day: ballakumen, the traditional dessert, flowers and olive branch, which also convey the wish for the arrival of a joyful, auspicious and prosperous season.
"Happy Summer Day with this basket prepared by the housewives of Elbasan, the Albanian capital of the celebration of this day!", congratulated the President of the Republic.
Prime Minister Edi Rama also wished all Albanians: "Happy Summer Day!" through a video shared on his account.
