The demolition of several buildings in Shkodra to make way for the city entrance project has been opposed by some of the owners of these buildings.
Fabion Murrizi, defense attorney for the owner of one of the businesses, Muarrem Shkjaut, says that IKMT is acting with an illegal decision while the demolition of the buildings is being done without any public interest, just to plant a few trees.
Ardit Sheqi, one of the owners, says that the demolition of his house is being done at a time when the expropriation has not yet passed.
According to them, the expropriations granted by the state for the buildings that are being demolished by IKMT are ridiculous and that they will pursue the case all the way to international courts.
IKMT's action to demolish buildings at the entrance to the city has started a few days ago. So far, 10 buildings have been demolished that have ownership certificates but are expected to receive expropriations worth a total of approximately 4 million euros.
Meanwhile, IKMT has previously demolished 11 other unauthorized buildings in function of the Shkodra entrance project. (A2 Televizion)
