A historic day today in Ulcinj, the city of natural, historical and cultural treasures, where the Consulate General of Albania was inaugurated, in the presence of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Mr. Igli Hasani; the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Mr. Ervin Ibrahimović; representatives of the central and local government, the diplomatic corps, Ulcinj citizens, etc.

The inauguration of this consulate for Minister Hasani is both evidence of the special relationship and relations between our two countries, but also of a shared commitment to building a stronger and more connected future between Albania and Montenegro. In his opening speech, he said:

“At a time when Albania and Montenegro are allies and share a common vision for peace, stability and European integration, this step represents an important pillar for deepening cooperation at all levels – political, economic, cultural and human. It will be a strategic node to help strengthen trade exchanges, promote investments, and increase opportunities for sustainable development, especially in sectors such as tourism, energy and infrastructure.”

Minister Hasani emphasized, among other things, that the Albanian government always follows with care and dedication the development and well-being of Albanians wherever they live. According to him, the Albanian community in Montenegro has made an extraordinary contribution to the democratic and Euro-Atlantic path of the country, and has always been an important factor of stability and coexistence. “We will continue to support this role and encourage their active representation at all levels of institutional life,” said Mr. Hasani.

As part of the visit to Ulcinj, Minister Hasani held a meeting with the Mayor of Ulcinj, Mr. Genc Nimanbegu, with whom he discussed important issues of bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of culture, education and tourism.

He also visited the Center for the Book and Promotion of Albanian Culture - Ulqini Bookstore, for which it is worth noting that at the beginning of this year, an amount of 50 thousand euros was disbursed for the bookstore, while he guaranteed that financial support for the functioning of this center will continue.

During the visit, Minister Hasani also met with leaders of Albanian political parties in Montenegro, to exchange ideas and discuss important issues related to the political situation and regional developments. (A2 Televizion)
