Following the government's decision to close the application for a 1-year period, the National Authority for Cybersecurity in collaboration with the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP) has officially requested the closure of TikTok in Albania by internet companies.
In an e-mail sent to all ISPs (internet service providers), AKEP requests that access to the social network, which has around 1.5 million users in our country, be blocked.
"The National Cyber Security Authority (AKSK) with letter no. 1196 prot., dated 10.03.2025 (administered in AKEP with no. 359/2 prot., dated 10.03.2025), has requested the necessary measures to block access to the TIK TOK application and its digital infrastructure on Albanian territory, by taking the following actions:
1. Blocking Tik Tok IPs in the territory of Albania.
2. Blocking TikTok DNS in Albania,
3. Blocking of Tik Tok's SNI (Server Name Indications) in the territory of Albania.
4. Blocking the IPs of the ByteDance company in the territory of Albania," the AKEP announcement states. (A2 Televizion)
