The strong wind that hit the southeast of the country today has once again highlighted the problem of sandstorms caused by peat agricultural lands in the Maliqi plain, which spontaneously burn during the summer.
During this time, according to agricultural specialists, these soils contain sand particles that rise to the surface during times of strong wind or during the summer season.
Residents of the villages of Sheqeras, Pirg and Sovjan have requested several times from the municipality of Maliq, the drainage board directorate and the ministry of agriculture the underground irrigation of these peat areas, which has not yet been achieved.
Meanwhile, the health of the residents living in this area remains at risk. (A2 Televizion)
