Veliaj's arrest celebrated with music and dance, 8 citizens prosecuted

Police have released eight citizens who yesterday afternoon became the protagonists with their party with folk music, beer and dancing in front of the Security Block where Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj is being held in custody.

Their celebration of Veliaj's arrest and open expression of support for the decision of the Special Anti-Corruption Structure, according to the police, has disturbed public peace.

Authorities also report that the group of 8 people did not obey police officers' orders to leave.
