Throughout our country, Orthodox Christian believers have celebrated the day of the blessing of Jesus Christ, otherwise known as the day of the blessing of nature. Symbolic of this day is throwing the cross into the water.
January 6, the day of the baptism of Jesus Christ or as it is also known by Orthodox believers as the blessing of waters and nature, was celebrated today in the main city, where Orthodox Christian believers have participated in the liturgies that were held in churches to follow the rite of throwing the cross into the water.
In Elbasan, there was a 14-year-old who pulled the cross out of the water. In Korça and Fier, the rite of throwing the cross into the water took place in the fountains, where the young people who caught it expressed their satisfaction and faith for good luck in this new year.
While in Vlora, the cross was thrown into the sea where the person who managed to catch the cross had this emotion for the first time. (A2 Televizion)
