We have no electoral strategy to undermine the investigations. This is what Prime Minister Edi Rama declared at the meeting of the socialist parliamentary group after the hearing with the rector of the Agricultural University of Kamza Fatbardh Sallaku. In response to analyst Adrim Krasniqi, who accuses this meeting of constitutional and legal violations, considers it an undermining act and as an electoral strategy, Rama emphasized again that only this party and government allowed the VIP investigation in Albania by taking their hands off the control of justice.
"They are constantly seeking only repression and nothing else, while what I seek and fight for is an independent and European justice. I don't know where Mr. Afrim and anyone else find it, talking about electoral strategies to undermine the VIP actions of justice. This is where the big problem we have begins, with today's news reports and portals where opinions are usually sold as facts. We have no electoral strategy to undermine any investigation and neither was the rector invited to raise the flag of innocence for 24 people who have taken security measures without trial and neither have we taken any case to say who is famous and who is not. Neither Mr. Afrim nor anyone else can compete in this way with this party and the ruling majority in terms of the fight for a fair and European justice in this country. If it weren't for this governing majority, Mr. Afrim and Largim would never see a VIP investigation in Albania, they would never see a political force in power that voluntarily, with patriotism, has withdrawn its hands from the control of the power of justice and has accepted that all the experiments of the corruption hall be carried out in its own body. The first is independence.
The head of government emphasized that he seeks European justice, not Russian, and for this, he said, this majority has made its body available to the anti-corruption operations room.
"If we had spoken as we are speaking today, we would have ruined a lot of work, but we cannot remain silent today and Mr. Afrim must be prepared that they will hear more from us now that SPAK and GJKKO, which we established and supported, have been adopted by others after the pilaf. We have entered the second phase of European justice and not Russian, it is justice where independence is only one of the conditions and standard and professionalism are the other two conditions. As we seek to become members of the EU, I do not want a Dutchman or a Frenchman to be brought up like in the past and say that we have no doubt that Albania has the will, but there are no courts. We do not determine prosecutors and judges, nor do we determine their acts and decisions. This party does not take on the role of the court or prosecutor. As long as this government exists, the court prosecutors can do their work independently, but we are not deaf and dumb. We have made our bodies available to the anti-corruption operations room."
