This early summer finds the streets of Pogradec with many visitors. Among them are many foreigners whom the city on the shores of Lake Ohrid has managed to win over with its nature, tranquility, hospitality and reasonable prices. Visitors who set foot for the first time promise to come back again.
"We come from Austria, we really enjoy the view of Lake Ohrid and the surrounding mountains. It's a wonderful place to stay. This is our second time in Albania and our first time in Pogradec. We will definitely come back, maybe this fall ," says a tourist.
"There are lots of shops, people walking around, the atmosphere by the lake is fantastic. The prices are very good. I will come back again," says another tourist.
For the curious, Pogradec offers more than just the Lake. Opportunities to explore nature and history are numerous.
The tourist villages of Lin and Tushemish continue to be favorite destinations. There, visitors can find traditional foods from the southeast.
The season officially opened this weekend, even though Pogradec has welcomed visitors from all over the world every day and season of the year.
Booking data from tourist agencies show that this year the tourist season in Pogradec will be good, but the annual challenge for institutions continues to be creating opportunities for sustainable and year-round tourism. (A2 Televizion)
