According to the latest data from the Henley Passport Index, Singapore is the world's most powerful passport leader for 2025. The Singapore passport offers visa-free travel to 195 countries, retaining the top spot for the sixth consecutive year , writes A2 CNN.
Japanese and Finnish passports also rank high, offering visa-free travel to 193 countries, ranking second and third respectively. Also, the passports of many European countries, such as Germany, France, Italy and Spain, offer similar opportunities for easy international travel.
In this index, Albania ranks 43rd. With our passport, we can travel without visas to 123 countries of the world, writes A2 CNN. Although we have risen by 5 positions from a year ago, the number of countries where we can travel without a visa with an Albanian passport has not changed.
Kosovo is ranked 63rd for 2025, as its citizens can travel without visas to 80 different countries around the world. Compared to a year ago, Kosovo has risen by 5 places in the ranking, while 6 countries have been added where its citizens who have a passport can travel without a visa.
In the global ranking, many other European countries, including Sweden, the Netherlands and Denmark, are also ranked in strong positions, offering rich opportunities for their citizens to travel without restrictions.
On the other hand, the countries with the weakest passports are those that offer limited opportunities for visa-free travel. Countries such as North Korea, Bangladesh, Libya and Palestine are ranked among the countries with the weakest passports, with the ability to travel to only a limited number of countries.
This index provides a clear overview of the most powerful passports and the restrictions that citizens may encounter in international travel.
Measurement methodology
The Henley Passport Index is the original and most authoritative passport index, with 18 years of historical data analyzed. The index and its content are based on data provided by the International Air Transport Authority (IATA), which are enriched, improved and updated through in-depth in-house research and open data on the Internet. The index includes 199 different passports and 227 travel destinations. It is updated monthly, making it the most reliable and robust index of its kind.
For each destination, if a visa is not required for passport holders from a country or territory, or if they can obtain a visa on arrival, visitor's permit or electronic travel authority (ETA) without needing government approval before departure, a point is awarded worth 1 for that passport. A score of 0 is awarded when a visa is required, or when passport holders must obtain a government-approved electronic visa (e-Visa) prior to departure, or when government approval is required for visas on arrival, a situation that does not we consider as "visa-free".
