Lasgush Poradeci is probably one of the rare writers who is so connected to his hometown Pogradecin, to whom he devoted so much verse and from whom he was inspired to write.
The benches with the lines of his poems and the bust of the poet in the background are the least that Pogradec could do for his poet.
But for former journalist Budjon Xhelo, this is too little, for what Lasgushi has left.
If the people of Pogradec know anything about their poet, the visitors drawn by the bust and the verses on the benches of the flower garden, have no chance to learn more about the poet of the lake.
Today, Pogradec lacks a house museum of the poet. As if to concretize the pragmatism of politics that uses things only for its current purpose, the former journalist shows that the Albanian parliament has for a long time been guided by the verses of Lasgushi, which were borrowed by the former speaker of the parliament.
The good news on the 36th anniversary of the death of Lasgush Poradec is that the municipality has already prepared the project and financing for the construction of the house museum of the poet.
This house is intended to turn into another point that will attract visitors, especially the Albanians of Kosovo and North Macedonia.
