The US Embassy has reacted after the Drinos Valley Monasteries became part of "World Monuments Watch 2025".
These monasteries, which were selected from 200 nominations from around the world, have been identified as one of 25 sites facing major challenges in preserving cultural heritage. This assessment highlights the exceptional global importance of Albania's cultural heritage and its potential to contribute to the preservation and promotion of historical and cultural values, writes A2 CNN.
The U.S. Embassy in Tirana has highlighted its pride in supporting these ancient monasteries through the Ambassadors’ Fund for Cultural Heritage. The fund aims to help protect, restore, and revitalize these important monuments, ensuring that Albania’s rich cultural heritage remains preserved for future generations. In addition, the support also has a positive impact on local communities, contributing to sustainable development and the growth of cultural tourism in the region. (A2 Televizion)
