Small cattle plague, a hotbed of infection also in Devoll, 150 heads are destroyed

150 small cattle have been destroyed on a livestock farm in the village of Shuec in Devoll. The news was announced by Demirali Latollari, head of the Veterinary Service in Korça.

He told the media that for several days they have been monitoring the health status of the livestock on this farm in the field and after the death of the first cattle, all measures have been taken to isolate the heads of this farm.

Latollari further explained that following the test results, the execution of 150 heads of small cattle has also been decided.

For the head of the veterinary service of the Korça region, there is also a risk for other farms that are located very close to the infected farm.

Meanwhile, Florian Bode, owner of this cattle farm, said that the damage caused is very great, destroying all the investment he has made over several years. He hopes that the government will stand by him.

Official sources said that this is the first and only outbreak of small cattle plague so far, not only in the Municipality of Devoll, but in the entire Korça Region. (A2 Televizion)
