Gjirokastra has already convinced foreign investors from world tourism capitals such as Venice to come and invest in the tourism sector in the UNESCO-protected city.

Ugo Brusegan, a Venetian with extensive experience in the field of tourism, has decided to use the experience he has gained in Gjirokastra, which he sees as a place with great potential to attract tourists.

But based on his experience and knowledge of tourists' demands, Ugo has an appeal for Albanian institutions and of course investors, who with their construction are risking losing the potential and what makes our country popular with foreign tourists.

"You have what you need, a wonderful nature and you have a wonderful heart. Albanians have a good heart and hospitality. And elite tourists want exactly these two elements, nature and a good heart. But you have to be careful because you shouldn't build too much or build poorly, because in this way you will drive tourists away. Everything artificial and built will not be preferred by tourists. Elite tourists want history, nature, culture, why not even the chirping of birds and where loud music beats these can be a problem," Ugo Brusegan, hotel administrator in Gjirokastra, told A2 CNN.

An important step in attracting elite tourists is the opening of the tourist airport in Gjirokastra, from where the first tourists have started arriving on private planes from Bari, Italy, but the lack of customs and logistics services for pilots on the airport runway, although they were promised to be provided a year ago, makes it very difficult for pilots who have to land once in Rinas and then come to Gjirokastra.

"According to them in the conversations we had, in order for there to be an increasing number, and the demands are numerous regarding the Gjirokastra airport, the flight booking procedures and everything they have in practice must be simpler, more electronic, and according to them, this airport will have an invasion, in quotes, of elite tourism planes," Teodor Bilushi from the Gjirokastra Airport Forum told A2 CNN.
