Agron Çeli, who holds the position of Director of Public Order at the State Police, revealed to A2 CNN how law enforcement will intervene in the event of problems outside and inside polling centers in the May 11 elections.
The law stipulates that police officers will be deployed 150 meters away from polling stations, while Çeli underlined that any illegality, such as photographing votes or others, will not go unpunished.
"No citizen, if identified, will remain unpunished by the special structures against electoral crimes. The intervention of the State Police and the cooperation with the CEC structures will be according to the definitions. The deployment of the State Police forces will be 150 meters away from the VCs. In order to cooperate and intervene according to the latest decision of the CEC, two coordinators have been appointed who, upon identifying the case, will notify the control rooms of the local directorates or the head of the service and the police will immediately take measures to intervene in the external premises. In the internal premises, the Secretary of the VC Commission notifies the State Police and the officers immediately intervene in the relevant voting center", explained Çeli. (A2 Televizion)
