The Police Surveillance Agency has arrested this Thursday the head of the Korca Border, Stiljan Pasho, after being accused of drug trafficking.
The order for the arrest of the 53-year-old has come from the Court of First Instance in Korça, after the Chief Commissioner "raised the bar" in Kapshtica to pass to Greece a vehicle inside which the Greek side found 26 kg of cannabis.
Pasho was sitting in the first place, at the moment when the driver, Lorenzo Lika, passed through the customs the vehicle with the drug inside the gas cylinder, which was later found by the Greek authorities in an apartment in Follorina.
The information about the chief commissioner has been administered by the AMP Korçë sector, who in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office have been following him with special methods for several weeks.
" From the investigative actions carried out by the Police Surveillance Agency, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the Korçë General Jurisdiction, it is proven that the SP Chief Commissioner, with concrete and direct actions, using his position in DVKM Korçë , at different time intervals and on 27.11.2023, favored the LL citizen to cross the border at PKK Kashtice without submitting to the border control in his vehicle, as well as ordering his subordinates not to carry out the control in this citizen's vehicle. In connection with this criminal proceeding, there was close cooperation with the counterparts of the Greek police through the Greece-Albania Police Cooperation Point, where as a result of this cooperation, it became possible to capture 26 kg of narcotics in the Greek state, "announces AMP .
Pasho accompanied Lorenzo Lika to cross the "Passat" type vehicle from the Albanian side towards the Greek border, crossing the border itself. Then he got out of the vehicle, turning back. This was not the only case when the Chief Commissioner himself had moved in the same vehicle with the arrested citizen, this fact was proven by the TIMS system and security cameras.
From the statements of the employees of the Kapshtica border point, they have admitted that they were pressured by the Chief Commissioner not to check the vehicle. The information was forwarded to the Greek counterparts who seized the drugs and arrested two young men in Follorina.
It is also suspected that in just one month, the 53-year-old has used the post at least 4 times to open the way for drug traffickers to transport narcotics to Greece.
The arrest of Pasho was announced by the Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla himself, evaluating the work of AMP in the self-cleaning process of the ranks of blue uniforms. (A2 Televizion)
