A sidewalk with rusty railway lines on both sides and an abandoned building are what remain of the former train station in Vlora.

Although it is among the newest train stations in the country, having opened in October 1985, it still could not escape destruction and abandonment, writes A2 CNN.

Today, nostalgics, but not only, express that a city like Vlora definitely needs passenger rail service, as it once was, since some residents cannot afford to travel by bus, van or taxi.

In fact, a tender has been opened for the reconstruction of the Rrogozhina-Vlora railway line, with the hope of restoring passenger train transport service for the citizens of Vlora, but also for users of the airport that is expected to open this summer. (A2 Televizion)
