After moderate to heavy rainfall for many minutes, some areas and road segments in the city of Vlora are currently under water. High-risk areas such as Albano and Romina, the area near the Vlora Public Library, the Skela area and near the “Halim Xhelo” school have increased water presence, reports A2 CNN.
Residents are concerned about the situation and say that this has been going on for 20 years. One of the residents appeals to the mayor to look into the situation.
"Just get on a plane where there are roads, look how they are built, we pay taxes. What is our fault that we are without a pension, we have rheumatism. It rained for 10 seconds, where is the mayor, what is he doing? We have been doing this job for 20 years. The sewage is in the square. We have nowhere to go. Where to go, look at the facts. I don't want to know about the party. Look at what is happening. Doesn't the mayor see it when he passes by?", she told A2 CNN.
While another says that a few minutes of rain floods Vlora and they have nowhere to go.
"Let some rafts pass. Last time the water level rose, businesses closed down here. A little rain, Vlora will drown."
