The situation in Shpirag worsens, helicopters intervene

The fire situation on Mount Shpirag in Berat is worsening. Since yesterday afternoon, dozens of firefighters, army forces and Berat municipality employees have been fighting the flames, which have reached large proportions, while today at noon the fire has approached homes in the village of Paftal in the Sinje municipality, risking burning them.

The intervention of two army helicopters was necessary, while the situation still appears dangerous. As the residents express, the situation endangers them and the small livestock they have, while they claim that there is nowhere to take them and they only hope that the situation will be normalized by the firefighters who have been working non-stop and throughout the night.
