Rama inspects works on Berat-Ballaban road, Balluku: It could open for traffic

Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister of Infrastructure Belinda Balluku have inspected the works on the intercity road axis, Berat-Ballaban, which will connect the city of "one-on-one" windows with areas such as Përmeti, Këlcyra, Memaliaj and Tepelena through rural areas.

The 60 km long road shortens travel time and distance and unlocks tremendous economic and tourism potential for this area.

During the inspection, Deputy Prime Minister Balluku congratulated the Mayor of Berat, Ervin Demo, for the fact that the expropriation process to begin the construction of the road has progressed at a rapid pace.

Regarding the progress of the works, Balluku expressed confidence that the axis could be opened to traffic at the end of this year.

"We are on an important road segment Berat-Ballaban, a segment of about 60 km, which connects three important municipalities, that of Berat, Përmet and Tepelena. Here we are in the first lot and the progress of the works is about 27%, but from what I was discussing earlier with the entire team that is working, we can finish it by the end of this year, if everything goes as we should. To be honest, all the problems we have had with expropriations and everything else and other parts where there was a voice of the local government have progressed very quickly to be honest. It is something that we should congratulate the municipality of Berat. This is a category F road. We started from the Tepelena side, so we started from the Ballaban bridge. There the progress is 67% today that we are talking about, while in the second lot it is somewhere at the same progress, about 30% is there, 27% is here. As we said with the company that is "We talked today, there is a high possibility that we will close it within the year, by December. The other wing connects with Vithkuqin," Balluku explained.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rama praised the work on the construction of this important junction for the southern area of the country and said that the projects will continue with new roads.

"I see that it is completely embroidered, beautifully crafted, fantastic. Here for agrotourism it is completely fantastic. We want to continue it there, we will connect it with Korça then with Vithkuq and everything will become new", declared Rama. (A2 Televizion)
