When discussing the price of milk, mainly from small cattle, very few people consider the effort, sacrifices, and expenses of livestock farmers to provide that milk.
To understand at least a little bit about how livestock farmers strive for dairy products, A2 interviewed 65-year-old Ylli Koromani, who has been migrating and wintering with his livestock for two decades.
From Skrapar to Myzeqe, the 65-year-old shepherd has trampled every pasture with his feet in order to serve his flock as best as possible. But is this effort and sacrifice rewarded by the products he provides from this activity?
Aid for livestock diseases and subsidies that more than any other type of service should be provided by the state, according to the shepherd, leave much to be desired, writes A2 CNN.
Unsure whether to continue this work, the shepherd appeals to state institutions to turn their attention to livestock farming if they want even these few remaining herders to survive. (A2 Televizion)
