Albania under the power of flames, 21 fires in 24 hours, 4 remain active

Over the last 24 hours, 21 fires have been reported across the country, of which 4 remain active, causing damage to vegetation and mobilizing a significant number of firefighting forces.

The identified outbreaks have been registered in the municipalities of: Elbasan, Librazhd, Prrenjas, Vlorë, Finiq, Tirana, Kavajë, Lezhë, Kurbin, Shkodër, Vau i Dejës, Malësi e Madhe, Has, Devoll and Berat.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the still active fires are in Elbasan, where it is reported that work continues at the urban waste landfill to completely extinguish the fire by dumping inert materials and encapsulating the waste. A group of experts is also on the ground to measure air pollution.

There is also an active outbreak in Finiq, between the village of Grazhdan (Livadhja unit) and the village of Malçan (Dhivër unit). The current situation is calm, but the area remains under constant monitoring.

Meanwhile, in Tirana, areas of bushes and thorny bushes continue to burn in the village of Bulticë, Vaqarr unit. Operational forces and the Cougar helicopter are in action to bring the flames under control in this area.

Also in Has, in the mountainous area between the villages of Gjinaj and Domaj, an area of ​​pine forest continues to burn. The fire is facing difficulties due to the terrain and wind, while forces on the ground continue their efforts to extinguish it.

So far, about 6 hectares of trees, bushes and grass have been burned. 232 operational forces and 36 firefighting vehicles have been deployed to deal with the situation.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces are engaged in extinguishing the flames with 35 personnel, 4 fire engines, 4 dump trucks, 1 tracked tractor and 1 Cougar helicopter.

According to the forecasts of the Institute of Geosciences, a "HIGH" risk level for fires is expected today in almost all regions. Meanwhile, in the regions of Korça and Vlora the risk is "moderate", but remains "high" in certain areas such as Korça (Center) and Vlora (North-Center). (A2 Televizion)
