US Embassy in Tirana appeals to citizens: Giving birth in the US with a tourist visa is prohibited

The United States Embassy in Tirana has warned Albanian citizens that the use of tourist visas for the purpose of traveling to the United States to give birth to children and secure American citizenship for them is prohibited.

The Embassy made the warning through a post on social media, writing that this action could lead to their visa being refused, writes A2 CNN.

"Using a tourist visa to travel primarily for the purpose of giving birth in the United States and securing citizenship for your child is not permitted and may result in visa denial," the US Embassy in Tirana said in a statement.

Therefore, the Embassy calls on Albanian citizens to be honest about the purpose of their travel when applying for visas and emphasizes that any violation may negatively affect future applications.
