Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared moments from the "Giro d'Italia" event in Rome on social media, emphasizing that Albania was presented as this year's destination for the Grand Start of the Giro d'Italia, which will be followed by 200 television stations around the world and nearly 800 million viewers.

The head of government participated the day before in the dedicated "Giro d'Italia" event in Rome, one of the most famous sporting activities in the world, where Albania was selected among many candidates to host "La Grande Partenza 2025" - "The Great Start 2025".
At this event, with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Italy, Antonio Tajani, Prime Minister Rama was accompanied by the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, the Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, and the Mayor of Vlorë, Ermal Dredha.
Rama was invited along with the organizers of the "Giro D'Italia" to the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, one of the most famous centers of art and culture in Europe.
The Prime Minister said that the stages of the race will be spectacular as they highlight the wonderful nature of the country.
He emphasized that the interest of Italian tourists in visiting Albania has increased significantly in recent years, closing 2024 with 1.4 million Italian visitors.
The famous popular race, with a 114-year tradition, will gather the world's best cyclists in Tirana, Durrës and Vlora in May and will be followed by hundreds of millions of television viewers. (A2 Televizion)
