Extreme temperatures, OSHEE takes measures to prevent fires in Kukës, power is cut off on several lines

In conditions of extreme temperatures that have affected the Kukes region in recent days, the regional Electricity Distribution Operator has launched an action to avoid the risk of fires in the city's green belt, where medium-voltage power transmission lines also lie.

OSHEE teams are engaged in cutting branches of tall trees located near power lines, in order to prevent them from coming into contact with them, a factor that can cause fires, especially in high heat conditions. As a result of these interventions, it has become necessary to temporarily disconnect some lines, which has led to temporary power outages in several neighborhoods of the city.

OSHEE asks for citizens' understanding for these several-minute interruptions, which, according to the institution, are necessary for the safety of employees and the network.

Meanwhile, to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, OSHEE Kukës is operating with alternative transmission lines where no works are being carried out, so that the city does not remain without power for long periods of time during the day. (A2 Televizion)
