NATO troops land in Albania, "Defender Europe 25" exercise starts

Tomorrow, May 27, in the early hours of the morning, the multinational exercise "Defender Europe 25" will officially launch from Zall-Herri, one of the largest and most complex military operations of the last decade in Europe and Africa.

This exercise is led by the United States European Command (USEUCOM), in close cooperation with NATO allies and strategic partners, and will last until June 9, 2025.

After departing from Zall-Herri, the troops will move to the Bize Training Center, where intensive phases of maneuvers will take place in difficult terrain. Operations will include offensive, defensive, and strategic deployment scenarios.

The primary goal of Defender Europe 25 is to enhance readiness, cooperation, and interoperability between the armed forces of the United States, NATO, and partner countries. The exercise scenario is based on Article 5 of the NATO Treaty, simulating a coordinated response to a potential attack on one of the allied countries.

Activities will extend to several European countries, with a particular focus on Albania and Kosovo, where training will be conducted on the protection of critical infrastructure, securing embarkation points, and managing advanced logistics.

The exercise is expected to demonstrate the alliance's collective strength and commitment to security and stability in the region. (A2 Televizion)
