The President of the Republic, His Excellency Bajram Begaj, was given a warm welcome by the Albanian community in Philadelphia, which he visited while in the United States to participate in the Partnership and Peace Forum and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Dayton.
A reception was reserved for the president by the Albanian-American Association “Sons of Albania”. The President of the Republic congratulated them for teaching the Albanian language in the school opened by this association: During the meeting, President Begaj recalled the journey of the Diaspora, highlighting the activism of patriots who gave life to the Albanian cause through the political, economic, educational and cultural institutions of America since the end of the 19th century.
The President of the Republic also praised the initiatives of Albanians to establish associations and cooperation networks among themselves, with the aim of integrating Albanians into American society, while at the same time preserving national identity.
President Begaj also conveyed special thanks to the local American authorities in Philadelphia, which have supported Diaspora projects, including the naming of "Willits Road" after "Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg".
The President of the Republic visited the "House of the Albanian" center, established by the "Sons of Albania" association, where he met the newly elected honorary consul in this position, the renowned physician Gentian Toshkezi. (A2 Televizion)
