During the last 24 hours, 17 fires have been reported across the country, of which 4 are still active, in the Dibër, Shkodër and Fier regions. In the latest update, the Ministry of Defense announces that the fires have mainly involved areas with shrubs, grasses and forests, causing significant environmental and agricultural damage.

In total, the fires of the last 24 hours have burned over 381 hectares of land and severely damaged natural and agricultural assets.

288 operational forces, 27 firefighting vehicles and 2 military helicopters have been involved in the field. Operations to extinguish the flames have been ongoing since 06:00 in the morning.

During the last 24 hours, 17 fires have been reported, of which 4 are still active.

These fire outbreaks have been identified in the municipalities of: Dibër, Bulqizë, Mat, Vau i Dejës, Mallakastër, Lezhë, Mirditë, Gjirokastër, Përmet, Himarë, Finiq, Krujë, Tirana, Kavajë, Rrogozhinë and Berat.

Currently, the following outbreaks remain active:

Dibër District

In the place called “Lake of Flowers”, part of the Lura National Park, work has continued to extinguish the fire that broke out in a forest area with pine trees and meadows. As a result, an area of about 200 ha of pine and beech forests has been burned so far. Today, 30 local operational forces and 30 members of the Armed Forces are continuing to work to extinguish the fire.

In the area called "Mali i Peladhisë", Zerqan administrative unit, Bulqizë municipality, work continues to extinguish the reactivated fire. As a result, an area of about 30 ha of bushes and grass has been burned so far.

Shkodra District

In the place called "Qafa e Lacit", Vau-Dejës municipality, work has continued to extinguish the fire that broke out on 15.07.2025 in an area of about 25 ha with oak, holm oak, shrubs and herbs.

Fier District

The forces are working to extinguish the fire in the village of Drenova, administrative unit of Qendër Dukas, municipality of Mallakastër. The mountainous terrain and strong winds have made the situation difficult. There is also a gas well near the hearth, which poses an increased risk. The total area burned and burned is estimated at around 120 ha of bushes and pine forest, and over 1,000 olive trees have been damaged and burned. Today, 36 local operational forces and 40 members of the Armed Forces are continuing their work to extinguish the fire. The Cougar helicopter has also come to their aid.

The fires were mainly recorded in areas with bushes and vegetation, resulting in the burning of more than 381 hectares of land and over 1,000 olive trees.

27 firefighting vehicles and 288 operational forces were deployed in the firefighting operations. The Cougar helicopter of the Armed Forces also participated in yesterday's operations. Today, as of 06:00, 70 military forces and 2 helicopters from the Armed Forces have been engaged in firefighting operations.

Based on the forecasts of the Institute of Geosciences, light rainfall is expected today in the Shkodra and Kukës regions, while locally light rainfall is expected in other regions.

Regarding forest fires, a "HIGH" risk level is expected today in the districts of Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Berat, Korçë and Gjirokastër, and a "MODELAR" risk level in all other districts.

In some regions, a "HIGH" risk is expected, only in localized areas, specifically: Shkodër region (South-West).
