From January 4, the application of the toll fee has started on the Thumanë-Kashar highway. The concession company that has built and maintains the only "A" category road axis, announced in December the start of the toll application, after 6 months of free passage.
To travel on the new infrastructural work 21 kilometers long, motorcycles with cylinders over 250 cubic centimeters will pay 170 lek, while vehicles 250 lek or 2.5 euros. For trucks, buses and vehicles with 2 or three floors and a height of over 2.2 meters, a fee of 620 ALL has been applied. Meanwhile, vehicles with 4 or more axles will pay 870 lek or, at the exchange rate, 8.8 euros.
The concession company has also published the rates for specific segments of this highway, such as Rinas-Thumanë, Kashar-Thumanë and Kashar-Rinas, writes A2 CNN.
Thus, for the Kashar-Rinas axis, the price starts from 50 lek for tricycles, or 0.6 euro, up to 270 lek (0.6 euro) for trucks or other vehicles with four or more axles.

For the Kashar-Thumane axis, the rates start from 170 lek for tricycles, or 1.8 euros, up to 870 lek (8.8 euros), for trucks or other vehicles with four or more axles.

As for the Rinas-Thumane axis, toll prices start from 120 lek (1.2 euro) for tricycles, up to 600 lek (6.1 euro) for trucks or other vehicles with four or more axles.

The Thumane-Kashar highway was opened for vehicle traffic at the end of June last year. The infrastructural work part of the "Blue Corridor" is the first of category "A" in Albania, thus laying a "foundation stone" towards a new standard. The highway meets all the criteria of the European Union, where the speed of movement is 130 kilometers per hour.
The infrastructural work that starts from Thumana and is connected to the Tirana-Durrës Highway is a completely private investment of the company "Gener 2", which after 35 years will be handed over to the state. With three lanes for each direction of movement, one dedicated for emergencies, 14 underpasses and 12 bridges, Thumanë-Kashar serves both Albanian citizens and foreign tourists.
