The Energy Regulatory Body decided to lower the electricity price by 1 lek for family subscribers who consume up to 700 kilowatt hours of energy per month.
After this decision, the price for this category of subscribers drops to 8.5 ALL per kilowatt hour, while for family members who consume over 700 kilowatt hours per month, the price remains 9.5 ALL per kilowatt hour.
But how many families benefit from such a facility?
From the total of 1.1 million family subscribers that the electricity system has, there are 880 thousand families that consume up to 700 kilowatt hours of energy per month and it is precisely these families that benefit from the price reduction. It is about those family subscribers who pay an average of up to 8,000 lek per month electricity bill.
But how was it possible to reduce the price of electricity for family subscribers?
This is thanks to the improvement of the situation in the energy sector.
The data show that the level of losses in the energy distribution network has been decreasing in recent years, dropping to 17.9% at the end of 2024.
Collections have also been characterized by the same positive trend.
Electricity receipts have been increasing in recent years, to peak in 2024 with 100.5%.
Prime Minister Rama declared a day ago, after the Energy Regulatory Authority's decision to reduce the price for family subscribers, that this facility was not taken for electoral purposes, but the government has a plan to transform Albania into an energy exporting country by the year 2030.
