The Executive Director General of the Financial Supervisory Authority (AMF), Ms. Mimoza Kaçi, participated in the International Insurance Forum 2025, organized by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) in the United States of America. This forum, among the most prestigious in the global insurance industry, brought together senior executives of regulatory authorities, international experts and industry leaders to address the latest challenges and developments in insurance markets.
In the panel on “Product and Technology Development”, Ms. Kaçi shared the Albanian perspective and experience in terms of digitalization of the insurance market and financial inclusion. She emphasized the importance of following international standards and adapting regulatory models to the specificities of developing countries, to guarantee a safer, more transparent market with high consumer protection.
“Albania and Southeastern European regulators can make a significant contribution to the digital development of insurance markets, acting as a bridge between local realities and international best practices,” stated Ms. Kaçi during her speech.
She also added that in Albania, digitalization has a national strategic role, not only as a technological improvement, but as a driver of sustainable development and financial inclusion, positively impacting the protective function of the insurance market.
The panel was chaired by Mr. Justin Zimmerman, Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, and included the participation of prominent international figures, including Ms. Ekhosuehi Iyahen, Secretary General of the Insurance Development Forum, and Ms. Suzette Vogelsang, Senior Expert at the International Monetary Fund.
This commitment of the AFSA in a forum of this level underlines the proactive role of the institution in supporting technological innovation and strengthening financial supervision in line with global trends.
