"The good reputation established in 2023 continues to keep foreign tourists' curiosity alive to come to Albania. By April, over 2.4 million foreign vacationers visited the country, up 6 percent compared to January-April of the previous year. However, the growth rates are not as strong as in previous years."

A mother and daughter recently arrived from southern Italy also tell us about the "Albanian allure" that is creating a "second Italian invasion."

"I come to Albania often. It's my first time in Tirana. I've been to Vlora and Saranda before," Lucrezzia, an Italian tourist, told A2 CNN.

" It's a growing country. Until 3-4 years ago, there was a not-so-positive perception of Albania among us. But when you see it for yourself, you realize that the people are especially friendly ," Miori, an Italian tourist, told A2 CNN.

And to attract as many tourists as possible, "info points" are proving to be a very good solution. Germans are proving to be the ones most interested in learning about the history of the Tirana pyramid.

" I'm trying to get information on how to climb to the top of the pyramid. We're looking for an elevator if there is one. We're too tired to climb it on foot ," Laura, a German tourist, told A2 CNN.

However, not everything is going well with tourism this year. There is no shortage of problems faced by vacationers.

" You have to have cash with you at all times. Not all shops, bars or restaurants allow you to pay by card ," Emiliy, an Italian tourist from Sicily, told A2 CNN.

Data from the Institute of Statistics shows that the majority of holidaymakers coming to Albania are European citizens, followed by tourists from the United States, Asia and Africa.
