Exports continue to decline for the seventh month, fashions in crisis

Although slower, foreign trade continues to shrink from month to month, putting many sectors in our country into difficulties.

According to INSTAT, exports continue to decline for the seventh month in a row, but stopped in October, this decline is registered with 4.3%, reaching the value of 37 billion ALL.

The fashion industry is among the sectors that had the greatest impact on exports, followed by the automotive industry, but also wood and paper products. 

In terms of 10 months, exports reached 370 billion ALL, thus decreasing by 34.4 billion ALL or 8.6% compared to a year ago.

On the other hand, imports decreased by 6.3% compared to the same period of the previous year. They reached the value of 728 billion ALL by October, decreasing by -6.4% compared to 2022, when imports were 778.4 billion ALL.

In this sector, Minerals, fuels, Textiles and shoes, but also wood and paper products, mostly affected the decline.

During this ten-month period, the countries with which Albania had the biggest decrease in exports, compared to a year ago, are: Italy, Germany, Spain, etc.

While a decrease in imports was recorded with Italy, Turkey, Greece, etc. (A2 Televizion)
