Anyone with unpaid electricity bills until the end of 2023 will be able to pay them in installments or all at once, avoiding all late payment interest. Household subscribers, businesses or institutions can now enter into "agreements" with the Electricity Distribution Operator to pay off their obligations. Depending on the amount, payment can be made in 24 to 120 installments.
"To benefit from the relief schemes approved by OSHEE Group, debtor customers must have repaid their obligations for 2024 and beyond, before signing the agreement for arrears by December 31, 2023. Upon signing the agreement, the customer must make the first installment payment within 7 calendar days and then continue with regular monthly payments until the obligation is fully repaid," OSHEE states.
For customers benefiting from economic assistance, or retired heads of households, or retired heads of households, the monthly installments will be 1,200 lek. Family subscribers, without any special categorization, will be able to pay their energy bills by paying 2,800 lek each month.
"These measures represent a concrete expression of OSHEE Group's social commitment to support citizens in coping with financial difficulties and to create a fairer and more sustainable relationship with customers. At the same time, through the implementation of these schemes, it is intended to strengthen the company's financial sustainability, as a prerequisite for providing safe and quality services in the future," OSHEE states.
The Electricity Distribution Operator has also made another scheme available. Family customers who decide to repay all their obligations at once will have their late payment interest reduced by 70 percent. Under the same condition, public institutions will also benefit from a halving of penalties, while businesses will be granted a 100 percent waiver of late payment interest. (A2 Televizion)
