The government's decision to waive fines comes into effect, how to benefit

The government's decision to waive fines for the period from January 1, 2015 to November 30, 2024 comes into force. The decision published in the Official Gazette determines the procedures that must be followed by institutions to carry out the process of repealing unexecuted administrative measures, set out in Law No. 127/2024, approved in December 2024, writes A2 CNN.

The decision was approved by the Council of Ministers 3 days before the parliamentary elections, while Article 3 of Law 127/2024 set the deadline for its approval as 10 days after the law entered into force.

Citizens will have 30 days to request the cancellation of fines. The decision stipulates that all relevant institutions, including the Local Inspectorates of Territorial Protection, the Municipal Police, the IKMT, the AKU, the Health Inspectorate and the State Police, have the obligation, within 30 days from the entry into force of the decision, to prepare and send lists of entities against which unexecuted administrative measures have been imposed and which are included in the amnesty.

These lists are approved by the respective heads and forwarded to the local self-government units or structures responsible for deleting obligations from official registers and systems. The decision stipulates that the process of removal/deletion from the list of debtor entities is completed within 60 days of its entry into force, with the exception of the case provided for in point 3 of Chapter III, for which the deadline for completing the process is 80 days.

The administrative costs for carrying out the process of removing/deleting unexecuted and repealed administrative measures under Law No. 127/2024, carried out pursuant to this decision, shall be borne by each institution.

The forgiveness of fines came as a proposal from 35 socialist deputies. (A2 Televizion)
