The voice of investments with a fund of 8 million euros will lead the budget for the Ministry of Tourism and Environment for the year 2024. During the presentation of the draft budget to the Committee of Production Activities, Minister Mirela Kumbaro announced the creation of an agency for waste management in the country .
"The 2024 budget project adds the waste program, the creation of a new agency that will follow the management of KFV and IPA investments", said Kumbaro.
The focus on the investments that will be undertaken next year are intervention in parks, visitor centers and beach cleaning.
"We are working on the integrated Management Plan of the Park, as well as on the project of the new Visitor Center in the Vjosa National Park. On the other hand, the budget approved in the investment item paves the way for investment in the rehabilitation of the "Elevation of the Tourist Infrastructure with an emphasis on the water Eco-Park Ulza." The Ministry of Tourism and Environment and the National Forestry Agency are working on the announcement of 2024 as the "Year of Forests" for which we have foreseen an investment of 172 million ALL.
The fund for cleaning the coastline during the summer months is increased to 250 million ALL. for 2024, the municipalities of Lezhë and Shkodër are added to this program, along with Durres, Kavaja, Rrogozhina, Vlora, Himara and Saranda, thus completing the entire coastline with increased cleaning forces through the National Coastal Agency.
Focusing on the tourist boom in 8.9 million foreigners until October, Minister Kumbaro said that a dedicated budget will be allocated for the promotion of Albania.
"The total budget increase of 300 million lek comes to support Albania's participation in prestigious fairs such as FITUR Madrid and ITB Berlin, the organization in Tirana of the 70th meeting of the Commission for Europe of the World Tourism Organization, the organization in Albania of convention of the French Confederation of Travel Companies".
As work has begun on the drafting of the new tourism strategy 2024-2030, the minister announced that the Tourism Law is expected to be approved by the Assembly.
