The first meeting of the IPA Sectoral Monitoring Committee for this year was held at the premises of the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, within the framework of the Operational Program "Youth Employment 2024–2027".
The program's main goal is the full inclusion of young people in the labor market, with a special focus on the NEET group, young people aged 15-29 who are not involved in education, employment or training.
With a total budget of 63.48 million euros, of which 50 million are financed by the European Union and 13.48 million by the Albanian government, the program will support three priority areas: increasing youth employment; improving education and vocational training; strengthening institutional capacities for the effective implementation of the program, writes A2 CNN.
The Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Olta Manjani, in her speech emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in achieving the program's objectives and addressing the needs of the younger generation.
"Our commitment is complete to building effective, transparent and directly impactful policies for the new generation in Albania," Manjani said, writes A2 CNN.
During the meeting, the joint commitment to creating concrete opportunities for employment and professional training for Albanian youth, as well as to strengthening institutions for the transparent and efficient management of EU funds, was reaffirmed.
The consultative roundtable was attended by representatives from the program's co-managing institutions, including the IPA National Coordinator, the European Union Delegation to Albania, as well as other national and international stakeholders involved in the program's implementation.
