The project of Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President-elect Donald Trump, is about to come to life. The Strategic Investment Committee headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama has approved the status of strategic investor for Kushner's 1.4 billion Euro project to build luxury resorts on Albania's only island.
The decision of the Strategic Investment Committee states that "the investment project meets the employment criteria required by the legislation on strategic investments." It further states that the tourist resorts will be built on an area of 45 hectares of land, and the improvement and repair of the current marina in Sazan is foreseen, writes A2 CNN.
Given that Sazan Island is owned by the Ministry of Defense and part of the military deployment plan, the decision of the Strategic Investment Committee was preceded by a presidential decree that removed this area from the military deployment plan.
Kushner will not be alone in this investment, as the decision clarifies that the Albanian state will also participate in the investment. (A2 Televizion)
