From Belgrade to Milan and Treviso, along with Vienna, Budapest and especially Istanbul and distant Dubai... Albanians are taking advantage of Summer Solstice and the weekend to travel abroad, writes A2 CNN.
On Friday alone, a total of 82 planes took off from the Mother Teresa International Airport to fly to these destinations, an unusual figure for mid-March. "There are many citizens who have taken advantage of the longer weekend than usual to go both to countries in the Region, as well as to destinations in European countries or Turkey. Because we are off-season, package prices are cheaper, so there has been a lot of demand for Dubai," Fjorinda Zani, a tour operator, tells A2 CNN.
In addition to flights, this mid-March there have also been more departures from Albania by citizens who have traveled by land. "There have been many bus trips not only to countries in the region, but also to Europe. We have bus trips to Austria or Spain. There is a significant increase in demand," Besnik Vathi, president of the Association of Tour Operators, tells A2 CNN.
For countries in the Region, package prices start from 55 to 120 euros for bus trips. On average, packages cost 400 euros for some of the main destinations in Europe, while in Dubai a package can be found for 600 euros per person. (A2 Televizion)
