Farmers who will raise calves will benefit from 5 thousand lek for each head. The government has approved the National Agriculture and Livestock Scheme 2025 with some changes compared to previous years.
"For this, we are working to have support from the banking sector, which has reduced costs for these beneficiary farmers' accounts," said Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Anila Denaj.
Meanwhile, the scheme remains almost unchanged in terms of measures. Those who have cows will receive 10 thousand lek per head, while those who breed small animals will receive 1 thousand and 200 lek. Beekeepers will be supported with 1 thousand lek, while vegetable, strawberry and grape growers will receive 200 thousand lek per hectare. The scheme also includes medicinal plants with 30 thousand lek per hectare, writes A2 CNN.
"Priority will be given to applicants who are members of an agricultural cooperative society, or a cooperative of operators with at least seven members. The exception is the case of greenhouses, the minimum number of members will be four. Priority will therefore be given to applicants who come as cooperatives of operators in both formats and the rest will be distributed equally to the rest of the applicants who meet the criteria," emphasized Minister Denaj, A2 CNN reports.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, also indicated when the distribution of support measures for farmers will begin.
"Applications are expected to open at the end of March with the aim of finding spaces to support all applicants," the minister added.
Even this year, the funds available in the National Agriculture and Livestock Scheme remain insufficient to support all farmers.
