New US tariffs: Kosovo and Albania 10 percent, Serbia 37 percent

Donald Trump imposed new tariffs on the United States' trading partners, which took effect immediately, and this includes Albania and Kosovo, which will face a 10 percent tariff. Meanwhile, Serbia has been imposed a 37 percent tariff.

The American president was welcomed into the White House Rose Garden with loud cheers and applause from the crowd.

"We have very, very good news today," he said first. "A lot of good things are happening for our country. Today is freedom day. April 2, 2025 will forever be remembered in history as the day American industry was reborn, the day America's destiny was decided, and the day we began to make America great again," the US President added.

According to Trump, our taxpayers have been cheated for more than 50 years, but this will not happen again in the US.

The US president directly accused other countries of a range of practices, including stealing American intellectual property and adopting unfair trade rules.

"A friend is sometimes worse than an enemy," he said, as he launched a new attack targeting international trade. Trump was referring here to the car markets in countries such as South Korea and Japan, noting that over 80% of cars made in South Korea are sold domestically, while in Japan the corresponding figure exceeds 90%.

At the same time, American-made cars represent only a small percentage of the markets in these countries. “Ford sells very little abroad,” he said, noting that this imbalance has led to the “destruction” of American industry. “That’s why tonight, at midnight, we will be putting a 25% tariff on all cars made abroad,” Trump said.

Then an auto worker from Detroit named Brian took the floor, expressing clear support for Donald Trump's tariff policy.

"My colleagues and I at UAW support Donald Trump's tariff policy 100%," he said, drawing applause from the audience.

"We are protecting farmers and ranchers," Trump continued his argument, saying that with today's actions, the US is "protecting farmers, who have been brutally treated by nations around the world."

Trump also criticized the fact that the US "subsidizes a lot of countries," citing Canada and Mexico as examples. "At some point you have to say: it's time to do a little work for yourself," he said, referring to countries that he said rely heavily on American aid. (A2 Televizion)
